CollabFund | 2025 Selected Project Details

We are happy to share the next exciting step in the CollabFund journey, unveiling the seven projects of this year's CollabFund

Building on the strong foundations of TheMuseumsLab Fellowship, these projects address urgent and inspiring themes - from digital heritage and decolonial practices to artistic engagement with natural history and care-centred collaboration. Each initiative demonstrates the creativity, commitment, and forward-thinking spirit that define the CollabFund’s mission to foster meaningful collaboration between museum professionals across Africa and Europe.

The selected projects are:

• Digital Archive of Alternative Genders in Africa and Africa(n) Collections

• Co-MammalHub: Artistic Approaches to Natural History Museum Spaces

• Re-Rooted: Liberating Colonial African Collections Through Indigenous Knowledge Systems

• Digital Archive Footprints

• Collage for Care

• Decolonising Practices: Online-Platform & Participatory Pavilion

• Tracing Colonialism: Tanzanian Collection in Slovenia

Together, these initiatives exemplify the CollabFund’s aim to transform the ideas and collaborations developed through TheMuseumsLab Fellowship into visible, accessible, and impactful outcomes. With grants ranging from €5,000 to €30,000, the CollabFund supports innovative, sustainable, and transcontinental projects that are shaping the future of museums.
