Meet Odile Uwera – the graphic artist behind the logo for TheMuseumsLab 2026

The Logo
"Each of my personal experiences with museums left me with insight into other people’s perspectives and connection to our intrinsic humanity. This always transformed my way of seeing my own context. So I approached the design of the logo as a chance to create something that represents this bridging of perspectives that allows people to imagine a future more diverse, just and dignified for everyone."
The following symbolic elements were combined into the design:
- Traditional Rwandan Imigongo Art Technique: Bold lines, repetition, geometric shapes, and simplicity, representing evolution and diverse perspectives coming together.
- The Museum Context: Simple icons representing records, historic figures, nature, spirituality, artefacts, etc.
- TheMuseumsLab Design Elements: ‘M’ letterform and brand colours were integrated into the overall design.
