Call for Graphic Designer based in Rwanda
Call Documents
TheMuseumsLab 2026
Starting online in May, and continuing onsite in Berlin and Kigali, this year‘s programme will bring together 50 Fellows and numerous scholars, practitioners, artists and activists, all connected to the museum sphere. Together they will explore the history, present and future of museums, exchange knowledge, ideas and best practices, and engage with various museum spaces on both continents. Focusing on the overarching theme ‘Building Futures from Memory: Museums and Memorial Sites as Agents’, TheMuseumsLab 2026 will invite museum professionals to reimagine museums as places of dialogue, repair, and transformation: spaces that highlight different histories and perspectives, foster community engagement, and support processes of justice and reconciliation. Through workshops and case studies, participants will explore how museums can translate memory into resilience and contribute to building more inclusive futures.
Reimagining the ‘M’
For the 2026 programme, we are once again seeking a redesign of the ‘M’ in our logo. The design should capture the network character of TheMuseumsLab while aligning with our shared values of respect and diversity, collaboration and advocacy, continuous learning, and cultural sensitivity. It may engage with this year’s programme theme ‘Building Futures from Memory: Museums and Memorial Sites as Agents’, or explore broader topics connected to TheMuseumsLab. We are specifically looking to collaborate with a graphic designer, or collective based in Rwanda. The final artwork will be featured across multiple media platforms and programme materials, representing the visual identity of this year’s programme.
