The TALKING OBJECTS LAB invited the 2025 Fellows to engage in dialogue with museum objects. Watch the full recording of the session held at the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin.

Talking to Objects at Kunstgewerbemuseum

During Module 2 of TheMuseumsLab 2025, the TALKING OBJECTS LAB invited the Fellows to step into a dialogue with objects from the Kunstgewerbemuseum’s collections. Rather than observing in silence, participants were encouraged to engage, question, and converse with the objects — revealing new layers of meaning.

What does an object trigger? What associations does it evoke? What questions would I like to ask, and what would I like to learn about it?

This approach created a multi-perspective encounter, an interactive conversation that opened new ways of seeing and understanding the object.
