Visit websiteThe Museum of Lisbon is made up of five locations dedicated to the discovery of the city history and the present times. While each of the five – Pimenta Palace, the Roman Theatre, the Saint Anthony Museum, West Tower and Casa dos Bicos – has its own focus and collections, they all share the same identity and mission: to show Lisbon in multiple ways and unveil the cultural richness of one of Europe’s oldest cities. We boast a varied and heterogeneous collection, composed of around 100,000 pieces and organised in nearly 50 collections of different typologies. It is a fundamental collection in relation to the history of Lisbon, documenting its urban transformations and the multiple ways in which different gazes have captured the essence of the city and many aspects of its life. We offer guided tours, artistic workshops and training sessions, giving the opportunity for a better understanding of the history and experiences of the city of Lisbon. Activities are aimed at the general public, families, schoolchildren, senior citizens and people with special needs. We also carry out specific research projects with local communities and Lisbonites of various origins, seeking to reflect critically on the city’s multicultural heritage.
