The Musée des Confluences in Lyon, France, opened in 2014 in a new building designed by the Austrian architectural agency, Coop Himmelblau. The Musée des Confluences is known for its interdisciplinary way of working, mixing different types of collections and creating new ways of seeing. Besides the 4 permanent galleries, three or four temporary exhibitions are organized every year around the themes connected to the permanent collection and/or subjects related to the evolution of our society. They express the plural character of the institution and its vocation as a place to diffuse knowledge. Particular attention is given to the museography which will vary according to the themes developed and the audience targeted. The scenography and the story we tell are an important part of all the exhibitions. They allow the creation of emotions, an important vector in learning.
