Founded in 1882, the DB Museum is the most ancient railway museum in the world. It is a non-profit organization under the roof of the Deutsche Bahn Stiftung (“German Railway Foundation”). The museum keeps German railway history alive from its beginnings in the early 19th century to the present day on three different locations.

The museum keeps German railway history alive from its beginnings in the early 19th century to the present day on three different locations. The main house in Nuremberg is characterized by a large permanent exhibition with a cultural-historical focus, which not only brings unique original vehicles to life, but also, for example, deals with the National Socialist past of the German railroads of the 1930s and 1940s. The more than 200,000 visitors a year include many families, who are particularly attracted by the indoor and outdoor children‘s play areas and family-friendly events
