Bio

Tina Palaić is an anthropologist and museologist who holds the position of the Head of the Curatorial Department at the Slovene Ethnographic Museum in Ljubljana. She is a curator of collections on Slovenian emigrants, ethnic Slovene minorities in neighbouring countries, national minorities, and other ethnicities in Slovenia. Her research interests include investigating colonial projects and their afterlives from the perspective of the European periphery, as revealed through museum collections. Tina has completed a PhD at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Ljubljana, where she explored ethnological and museological practices of knowledge production on non- European cultures that emerged during the Non- Aligned Movement in Slovenia, the former Yugoslav republic. She also has extensive experience collaborating with individuals and communities to research their heritage, including the Roma community and members of the African diaspora in Slovenia.
