Bio

Meryem Korun is a cultural strategist, international program lead and advocate for inclusive institutional transformation. With over a decade of experience across cultural institutions, socio-ecological urban development, and social enterprise, she currently heads TheMuseumsLab based at Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, an international joint learning platform fostering equitable collaboration between African and European museum professionals. Her work centers on diversity-oriented organizational development, science diplomacy, and rethinking power dynamics in global partnerships. Previously, as Deputy Equal Opportunities Officer at Museum für Naturkunde, she advanced structural inclusion and representation within the institution. Meryem is committed to shaping intersectional, justice-oriented cultural practice and is currently deepening her leadership through a Professional Master’s in Governance and Human Rights at Leuphana University, a program recognized by the UN OHCHR. She studied Cultural Theory and Area Studies at Humboldt University Berlin and the University of the Western Cape.
