Centre de Recherches et de Documentation du Sénégal (CRDS) is a public research, documentation and museum institution affiliated with Gaston Berger University. It combines a historical library, archives, a museum and a large phototheque focused on the Senegal River Valley and Senegalese histories. Through exhibitions, research and educational programmes with schools, students and local communities, the CRDS preserves, studies and interprets written, visual and material heritage, with particular attention to colonial and postcolonial histories and everyday life in a UNESCO World Heritage city.
