Founded by custodians of the Toro royal lineage at Rwengoma Ascension Palace, ARHM was established as a fiduciary entity under the Museums and Monuments Act, Land Act, Tourism Act, and Security in Immovable Property Act to ensure accountability, consolidation, and protection of heritage resources.
Its strategic goals include:
i. Preservation of heritage as a foundation of identity.
ii. Transformation of idle heritage into economic resources.
iii. Building partnerships with universities, government, and international bodies to achieve global recognition.
