TheMuseumsLab was developed by the five founding partners: the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin (MfN), the Master‘s Programme in Museum Management and Communication at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin (HTW) and the African consultancy group The Advisors.
The programme of 2022 takes place in close cooperation with the University of the Western Cape (UWC), the Goethe-Institute Johannesburg as well as several African and European museums and cultural institutions. The project is financed by the German Federal Foreign Office and the German Minister of State for Culture and the Media and supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
This year TheMuseumsLab will start with a Kick-off event on May 11th. During the event, there will be an introduction to this year's programme, followed by a keynote speech by Lazare Eloundou Assomo, director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Following the speech there will be time for a short Q&A. Amira El Ahl will moderate the event.
